The Book of Melachim by Rav Pinchas Wolf

The Book of Melachim brings Rav Pinchas Wolf’s insightful commentary on Sefer Melachim to the English-speaking reader.

Following the interpretative approach of Rav Samson Raphael Hirsch, Rav Wolf applies careful analysis of the text and precise examination of its language to uncover the depth and timeless meaning of Sefer Melachim. This English edition presents his commentary in clear, contemporary language, making it accessible to both serious students and those approaching the sefer for the first time.

A talmid of Rav Dovid Tzvi Hoffman and Rav Aviezri Auerbach, Rav Pinchas Wolf taught at the Samson Raphael Hirsch Realschule in Frankfurt and later served as a rav in Cologne and Petach Tikvah.

The Book of Melachim offers readers a distinctive Hirschian approach to understanding the words, events, and lessons of Tanach.
