בשדה בוקר השמש לא שקעה כמעט אף פעם, וכולנו התרוצצנו יחפים ופרועים מהפנימייה לקבר, מהקבר לצוק, והנעורים בערו לנו על העור ורק רצינו להרגיש עוד ועוד מהדבר הזה שלא ידענו לקרוא לו בשם. 

לבנים של שדה בוקר היה עתיד בהיר, נהיר, מזהיר. בנים תמיד יודעים לאן הם הולכים. מישהו כבר צייר להם מפה והם רק צריכים לדעת לקרוא אותה.

אבל אנחנו היינו בנות. 

פחדנו ושנאנו את עצמנו כמו בנות, ועמדנו בתחתונים מול המראה בחדר שלנו בפנימייה וכל אחת אמרה מה הכי מכוער בה. להיות בת אומר שאת חייבת להיזהר תמיד. כל הזמן.

ספרה הראשון של מיה יסעור הוא טקסט בשל ונפלא ומלא עסיס וטעם. העברית שלה יחפנית ופושטקית וגם אלגנטית ומדויקת. בעדינות ובתשומת לב היא מספרת סיפור אישי מאוד על מקום אחד ועל נערה אחת, אבל באורח פלא מחזירה אותנו, הקוראות והקוראים שלה, אל מה שאולי היו הנעורים שלנו ואולי הוא החלום שלנו על האור היוקד והחושך הסמיך של אז.

מיה יסעור נולדה בבאר שבע ב־1983, למדה בתיכון לחינוך סביבתי במדרשת שדה בוקר. עורכת ספרותית, חיה בתל אביב.

Maya Yasur's first book is a ripe and wonderful text, full of juice and flavor. Her Hebrew is barefoot and stilted, but also elegant and precise. With gentleness and attention, she tells a very personal story about one place and one girl, but miraculously takes us, her readers, back to what may have been our youth and perhaps is our dream of the blazing light and thick darkness of that time.
