Он трагически погиб\u003cbr\u003eв день своего двадцатилетия… Мама всю жизнь считала своим моральным и\u003cbr\u003eпрофессиональным долгом привлечь к нему внимание читателей.\u003cbr\u003eЕлена Мешкова («Элка-Светлячок»), заменившая убитого на ее глазах\u003cbr\u003eкомандира стрелковой роты на Ленинградском фронте во время блокады\u003cbr\u003e(41-43 годы), в 70-е годы работала комендантом заводского общежития. Она\u003cbr\u003eстала заходить в редакцию газеты «Электросила» поделиться наболевшими\u003cbr\u003eпроблемами. Ее живые рассказы становились сюжетами злободневных\u003cbr\u003eматериалов литсотрудника газеты М.Генкиной. Они долго работали вместе, прежде чем Елена Николаевна\u003cbr\u003eотнесла рукописи в редакцию журнала, и это повернуло ее судьбу.\u003cbr\u003eКирилл Килпалин («Художник Камчатки»). Молодой охотник-каряк\u003cbr\u003eприслал из больницы в редакцию газеты «Камчатская правда» тетрадку\u003cbr\u003eсвоих рисунков-иллюстраций вместе с народными сказаниями. Мама по\u003cbr\u003eпоручению редакции при возвращении на «Большую Землю» (отца перевели\u003cbr\u003eна другое место службы) передала эту тетрадь известному художнику\u003cbr\u003eЕ.Лебедеву, а тот в Русский Музей в Ленинграде (к сожалению, эту тетрадь\u003cbr\u003eпозднейшим исследователям найти не удалось). Публикация М.Генкиной и\u003cbr\u003eИ.Стеблича «Художник с далекой Камчетки» в «Комсомольской правде» в\u003cbr\u003e1956 году с иллюстрациями из этой тетради была первой. Кирилл Килпалин,\u003cbr\u003eвпоследствии (в основном, посмертно) знаменитый художник стал героем и\u003cbr\u003eсимволом Камчатской земли…\u003cbr\u003eВ конце каждого очерка книги «Самородки» приведено много стихов и картин\u003cbr\u003eих героев. На обложке Мама написала: «Время не имеет значения для\u003cbr\u003eподлинных произведений искусства», мне кажется, это вполне относится и к\u003cbr\u003eэтой книге…\u003cbr\u003e- И.Б. And talented people had been attracted to\u003cbr\u003eher. This slim book written by Margarita Genkina (1927-2025) professional journalist of 70 years\u003cbr\u003eof experience, offers essays of three personal life stories.\u003cbr\u003eVictor Danilov (“The Youngest Russian Poet”), the ship boy, who kept bringing his poetry\u003cbr\u003eto the “Baltic Guard” editorial office. He tragically died on his twentieth birthday… Mom took\u003cbr\u003eupon herself and considered it her moral and professional duty to make him known to the\u003cbr\u003ereader.\u003cbr\u003eYelena Meshkova (“Elka-Svetlyachok” (Ella- firefly)) during Leningrad Siege in 1941-43 the\u003cbr\u003erifle brigade commander was killed right before her eyes. She took on his duties. In 1970s she\u003cbr\u003eworked as a factory dormitory commandant. She would come to the “Electrosila” newspaper\u003cbr\u003eeditorial office to share her pressing issues. Her animated narratives were picked by the\u003cbr\u003ejournalist M. Genkina and turned into the top stories. But once she shared her poetry\u003cbr\u003eand memoirs, Mom offered to publish them. She exclaimed, “Ritochka, what are you talking\u003cbr\u003eabout, I’m illiterate, I make mistakes in every word!” For a long time, they worked together\u003cbr\u003ewith Yelena Nikolayevna to present her manuscript before Journal’s editorial. That actually\u003cbr\u003eturned her life around.\u003cbr\u003eKirill Kilpalin (“The Artist of Kamchatka”), a young karyak hunter, sent his notebook of\u003cbr\u003eillustrations along with the folk tales from the hospital to the “Kamchatskaya Pravda”\u003cbr\u003enewspaper. At that time, our family was about to move to the “Main Land” (my father was\u003cbr\u003etransferred to serve on the Baltic Sea). On behalf of the editorial board, my mother handed this\u003cbr\u003enotebook over to the famous artist E. Lebedev, who, in turn, handed it over to the Leningrad\u003cbr\u003eRussian Museum (unfortunately, most recent researchers were unable to locate this notebook).\u003cbr\u003eThe first publication about young artist K.Kilpalin named “The Artist from Far Kamchatka” with\u003cbr\u003eillustrations from that notebook was done by M. Genkina and I. Steblich in 1956. Kirill Kilpalin, famous artist (mostly posthumously), became Kamchatka Land’s hero and symbol.\u003cbr\u003eAt the end of each “Samorodki” essay, there is a number of poetical verses and its\u003cbr\u003ehero’s artwork. On the cover of her book my mother wrote: “Time has no meaning for the\u003cbr\u003egenuine work of art”.\u003cbr\u003eIt seems, it is appropriate to attribute those words to the book itself, as well…\u003cbr\u003eI.
