Despite its tragically short lifespan, the Yeshiva of Baranovich was esteemed throughout the world as a symbol of Torah learning. The very name Baranovich became a hallmark of excellence and depth of scholarship. Its rosh yeshiva, Rav Elchanan Wasserman, was recognized as one of the great leaders of Orthodox Jewry during the turbulent years between the World Wars.
